Day 4

June 30-Saturday
I woke up this morning about a half hour
before our wake up call and read by the window
while I waited for the shower. When I peaked
at the sky I beheld a beautiful sight....above
looked not just gray, but blueish gray!No more
rain today. And that means I broke out a dress.
Hopefully I won't die of heat. We had breakfast
as usual;nothing very exciting though i am
getting better with my chopsticks.
First for the day we went to a Chinese tea ceremony.
I was very excited and my enthusiasm was not waisted.
It was really awesome. We tried 5 different teas: jin xin,
jasmine, black tea, pure tea, and fruit tea. Fruit tea
was the best. And I finally found stuff for my brother!
Then we went to the birds nest and the water cube. The
birds nest was better than I thought it would be. Emily
and I just sat in the seats and watched an Olympics video.
Once two boys came up and wanted pictures with me and
Emily. They didn't speak any English and it was very cute.
Then a few minutes later another Chinese boy came up
to me and asked in English if he could take a picture
with me, of course I said yes!! The water cube sucked.
It was busy and confusing and you couldn't really see
where they swam for the Olympics. When we got done Yoko
told us there was a McDonald's just outside. I got
separated from the group because I was talking to Jill
so when I went outside I walked really far in the wrong
direction. I started freaking out because I realized
it was back near the water cube and I didn't think
they would let me back in. But after a long detour
with some other kids in the group, I finally made it.
The McDonald's was really strange; there were only a
few items on the menu so I ended up spending more
money than I wanted to. So far today I have spent way
too much money. I'm going to try really hard tomorrow
 to not spend money.
We went to the art zone after lunch
and yoko gave us like 2 and a half
hours there. It was WAY too hot and
i felt like I was going to get heat
stroke. I also didn't have cold
water, and I needed a bathroom which
there wasn't one. We walk forever
and went into a bunch of shops. Surprise surprise I bought
something.Sunglasses because I forgot mine and it's supposed
to be really hot and sunny these
next few days. No spending tomorrow!!!
Dinner was cool, ever person got a little
pot of hot water and then
there were raw veggies,
noodles and meat that you
through in the water to cook
them. Then there was a spicy
sauce and a seasameed
sauce that you dipped the food
 in. Pretty good!
